EnhSim
Starting EnhSim gives error: enhsim.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
If you click the "For more information about this error", and you see something like this:
Error Signature
AppName: enhsim.exe AppVer: X.X.X.X ModName: enhsim.exe
ModVer: X.X.X.X Offset: 00001e81
Probable cause is your CPU doesn't support SSE2 instructions. Lists of CPUs supporting and not supporting SSE2 instructions. Take a look at the compiling and building guide to build EnhSim yourself.
If, however, your CPU supports SSE2 instructions, you should contact me regarding the encountered error.
My EP values are changing every time I simulate.
This is normal and is caused by random numbers. Although, if your numbers change a lot, the problem might be your config. Check the EP guide.
Simulated DPS seems too low.
Are you running out of mana in the simulator? If you have Out of mana time more than 0%, it means at some point you run out of mana and your DPS decreases dramatically. Check your settings, especially that SR(Shamanistic Rage) is in the rotation. If you still think EnhSim is wrong about your mana, you can just disable mana simulations by setting simulate_mana to 0.
Another reason could be, your rotation is not doing what you think it's doing. For example, if you are an enhancement shaman, you might have put LB in the rotation instead of MW5_LB. This would make the simulator cast Lightning Bolts, even if you don't have stacks of Maelstrom Weapon.
What stats should I use with EnhSim?
Unbuffed stats. In game, remove all buffs including weapon imbues(windfury, flametongue etc). Look at your paper doll and you have your EnhSim compatible stats.
EnhSim sometimes crashes when I use many threads?
With Windows Vista, possible solution is to use compatibility mode (Windows XP, Service Pack 2) with enhsim.exe. See Bug: Threading Issue.

I have just downloaded the new (1.5.8) version and am having trouble when I go to hit the sim button. It gives me an error box of Unhandled exception has occurred in your application. If you click continue. the app will ignore this error and attempt to continue. If you click Quit, the app will close immediately.
The system cannon find the file specified.
I have had the happen before with other builds but it usually straightened itself out with clicking continue or a restart of the computer. Neither is working this time. I have the rar file expanded into its own folder on desktop, and am running windows vista. If you need me to i can email you the details given in the error window.
any help would be greatly welcome. this prog is great and has saved me massive amounts of gold as i have been trying different specs and enchant and glyph combos trying to max out my dps. damned DKs and mages making me work harder…
thanks in advance
Igor
I reinstalled the c++ files and .net files suggested and it appears to be working fine now so not sure what was wrong.
Hiya, great sim, very useful.
Mind a noob question?
MH/OH hit and crit, in the GUI, do I just input my paper doll values (i.e, the same) for them both?
Also, what exactly is the purpose of agility in the programme, as, if paper doll values are correct for the MH Crit/Hit and OH Crit/Hit, then it is pointless?
This leads me to think that I need to be doing some modification to my paper doll hit% chance to use this properly.
Sorry for the noob question, but basically, the MH/OH Hit and Crit confused me ><
You input the paper doll values (same for MH and OH). Always remember to take off all buffs before copying stats to EnhSim. You also might want to take a look at ShockAndAwe addon or new Rawr version, which both have EnhSim export.
The purpose of agility(and some other attributes) is info for buffs. For example, Blessing of Kings needs to know how much agility you have.
When I try to Calculate EP values, enhsim.exe goes through the calculations until it reaches the 11th one (OH Dps), Windows Vista throws an error "Enhancement Shaman simulator has stopped working"

Following the Arinen guide to get my eps, I change the Expertise rating for mh and oh to 106 so they are no longer capped.
But the ep calculation says that the expertise is past cap, and set zero eps for expertise.
Anyone can help me, plz¿?

** JIT Debugging **
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.
For example:
<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>
When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.
I have no idea what I'm supposed to put in the path box. Plain Engish please.
